I don’t always get the pleasure of creating beautiful tablescapes for Thanksgiving. Christmas trees, mantels, stair rails and wreaths consume us this time of year. This year, however one of my wonderful holiday clients asked me to help with her Thanksgiving table. It has really been a bright spot in my busiest season. I got to set Christmas trees aside and create this warm and inviting table. Of course, her gorgeous traditional Spode place settings were the perfect inspiration.
I had the help of one of my dear friends, Karie Crowley. She does some beautiful floral work, weddings and events. If we lived in the same town we might be trouble together.
Now, to this gorgeous table. We started with a base of mixed eucalyptus garland. We added roses and sprigs of previtt berry. This base created texture and color. We then added drama with long tapers in vintage brass candle sticks. Flowers Etc. on our Main Street has a large vintage section. They had a large selection of candle sticks and I bought most of them. It was the perfect addition. We added pheasant feathers that my client had saved from her husbands hunting for a little extra drama and coordinating with the place setting. Finally, we added these Bosc pears with hand lettered words for a personal touch. With the place cards, tableware and crystal already in place it was lovely.
I love sharing these moments in my clients lives. Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
